A story from a few days ago on
GotFrag eSports indicates that anti-gaming backlash in Germany is
continuing, as they report the German government has prohibited playing
Counter-Strike at public LAN events. According to the story, this has
resulted in the cancellation of multiple ESL Friday Night games, and the
Convention-X-Treme tournament, and
a translation of the German-language
Convention-X-Treme Website discusses how this decision came down, and their
efforts at meeting with the powers-that-be to discuss the situation. Thanks
Ant and
Planet Half-Life.
