Mark Jacobs' Mythic Farewell

All Things Must Come to an End on Online Games Are a Niche Market is a blog post by Mark Jacobs following the news he has parted ways with EA and Mythic (thanks Mike Martinez and Kotaku). He talks a bit about the ups and downs of his 15 years with Mythic, and says he plans on making frequent updates to that blog going forward to thank people in the industry and talk about their efforts. He also promises not to savage anyone he's left behind, and has some gracious things about EA. The intro does, however, paint an odd picture of how his departure unfolded:

After 15 years of leading Mythic Entertainment, my time with the studio (and EA of course) I co-founded with Rob Denton has come to an end. Early in May, Electronic Arts let me know that they wanted to make some changes within the Games Label and as a result of those changes I have been out of the office (and out of touch with the team, game, etc.) since that day. So, please accept my apologies if you have tried to reach me over the last couple of months but please know I wasn’t ignoring you.
