So far so good on my new "squirrel-proof" birdfeeder, as the squirrels seem to have resigned themselves to ground-feeding the spillage caused by the birdies. A couple of people, including my dad, have pointed out that the birds don't actually need feeding in the summer, which I honestly hadn't considered, but it makes sense that some folks take their feeders in this time of year, especially now that we've gone through 25 pounds of seed in a couple of weeks.
