Apple Corps, Harmonix, and MTV Games announce
The Beatles: Rock Band is
the official title of their upcoming Beatles music game, revealing September 9
as the game's symmetrical (09/09/09) release date for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3,
and Wii. Word is: "The Beatles: Rock Band will allow fans to pick up the guitar,
bass, mic or drums and experience The Beatles extraordinary catalogue of music
through gameplay that takes players on a journey through the legacy and
evolution of the band’s legendary career. In addition, The Beatles: Rock Band
will offer a limited number of new hardware offerings modeled after instruments
used by John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr throughout

is online, teasing that date and offering sign-ups for notifications of when
preorders begin (they are promising exclusive preorder bonuses). They also
announce pricing details, with the standalone game costing $59.99, standalone
guitars costing $99.99, and the premium bundle priced at a whopping $249.99
(pricing outside the US to be revealed at a later date). The game will be
compatible with all current music game peripherals, but there is no indication
of whether or not the music from the Beatles game can be imported into Rock
Band/Rock Band 2.
