The debut release of GameSpy's ArenaSpy is now available, offering an enhanced version of the in-game Quake III Arena server browser based on GameSpy technology. The new program offers enhanced speed and a more complete feature set than the game's internal browser, though it should be noted that it uses a compiled .dll, rather than the .vms format that id Software recommends for game mods (story), which crt tells me is because the server-browser stuff can't be done via .vms. ArenaSpy is unsupported freeware.
