Apparently the Elite residual checks have slowed, as Braben says pre-owned game sales are "damaging" to single-player games, which can be sold off after completion, suggesting some sort of rental market might be a better alternative. His idea naturally includes the thought that publishers be cut in on the rental revenue stream, though it seems suggesting taking a cut of resold games would serve the same purpose.
