Gamasutra
reports Ubisoft's plans to create an MMOG based on the works of Tom Clancy,
announced at a conference call this evening to follow-up on today's news that
Ubisoft has purchased rights to make games in the name of the thriller author
(story). It seems Ubisoft is ready to begin development on the
game as soon as a team is in place, Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot is quoted saying
they have been interested in such a project for a while, but have been daunted
by the prospect of paying exorbitant royalties. Royalties notwithstanding they
are estimating the game will have a budget between 40 and 50 million dollars.
