GameCyte points out something
interesting following EA's recent stab at acquiring Take-Two Interactive (thanks
Mike). After EA's takeover bid was rejected (story), a website to
make a public case for the move was launched at
EATake2.com (story), a
domain that was registered privately through a proxy service, but that we now
know belongs to EA. GameCyte points out the striking similarity of the domain
EAUbisoft.com, which was registered at the same time as EATake2.com by the same
proxy, which makes it seem extremely likely that EA owns this domain as well.
What is less certain is whether this means EA is actually actively looking to
increase their 19.9% stake in Ubisoft (story) or were picking up the URL just in case they
decided to do so in the future.
