What with the Smurfs that we baby-sit and the whole Blue thing, I can't believe I missed that yesterday was the anniversary of the Smurfs, making them an amazing 48 years old. It actually turns out that I am way behind on my knowledge of all things Smurfy, as this article on the anniversary references all sorts of theories that they were the source of communist propaganda and such.
