The 3000AD Website has the announcement of plans for Universal Combat: A World Apart, an add-on for Universal Combat, the recent continuation of the Battlecruiser series of space simulations. There is more info along with some screenshots on The Adrenaline Vault where they clarify that this announcement signifies the death of Universal Combat: Hold the Line, the previously announced UC add-on, though this could also be characterized as a renaming and reworking of that project according to this bit: "A World Apart will feature all of the technology and assets that were developed for Hold the Line, but will feature the more complex gameplay of Universal Combat." Word is A World Apart will be released in 2005 around the same time as Universal Combat: Hostile Intent, a more action-oriented installment in the series. In a final twist, Hostile Intent carried a Q4 2004 release date when it was announced (story), so this news also represents a delay for that title.
