- Battlefield 2
The
Battlefield 2 Q&A on GameSpot discusses the upcoming military
multiplayer shooter sequel with DICE's Sean Decker:
"And Battlefield 2 will offer a lot more to the Battlefield veteran. Players
will, of course, be able to play with modern weapons and vehicles, such as
wire-guided antitank missiles, laser-guided bombs, and the joint strike
fighter. They will also be able to play the game with squads and commanders.
These give them some unique tools to help them play together more
effectively. These tools include being able to track their teammates, use
the built-in voice-over-IP real-time chat to talk to their squads, and even
spawn in on their squad leaders' locations when they die. Another great
feature is that the game will have built-in tracking of statistics and
rankings of all the players worldwide who play on ranked servers. This
allows you to build up a history with your player, unlock new weapons, and
earn various rewards."
- Guild Wars
The
Guild Wars Q&A on Computer and Video Games puts the squeeze on Jeff
Strain of ArenaNet for details about their upcoming MMORPG: "So in Guild
Wars world travelling is done by opening up a map and clicking on a
location. It's as simple as that. We're sticking in magic portals to make it
more believable, but it's not something we're getting hung up on. The
emphasis is on getting where you want to go and having fun. It's the same
with getting into missions and forming parties - you go where you want and
there should be people there who want to do the same thing. Even the item
system is designed for ease of use. You don't get rewarded with a more
powerful weapon for playing sixty hours, but you may have a very different
sword because you've customised it with all the items and rewards you've
collected. Again, it's not about how long you spend in the game but what you
do with that time." More Guild Wars Q&A action can be found in the latest

- Telladar Chronicles: Decline
The
Telladar Chronicles: Decline Q&A on Gamer's Hell chats with Sergey
Snisarenko of Game Factory Interactive about their upcoming real-time
strategy game: "Our main goal is to deliver a legendary atmosphere where
huge armies led by epic heroes clash on the global battlefields, mighty
wizards spread death and destruction with powerful spells, and where
horrible monsters tower over ranks of warriors. The player could expect to
meet everything that should be included in a good fantasy game. Thus, three
major things that should be experienced in our game are participating in
epic events, revealing the truth behind storyline twists and a struggle in
huge battles."
- Vendetta Online
Experience
Gaming's Vendetta Online Q&A talks with John Bergman, managing director
of Guild Software, about their upcoming space combat MMORPG: "I enjoyed
Origin’s older Wing Commander Series (I only played the first and second),
as well as the LucasArts X-wing and Tie Fighter classics. I was playing one
of these around the time when multiplayer games were first starting to
really gain ground, in the form of modem-Doom. I was also active on the
internet relatively early (well before the advent of the Web), and the basic
concept of a massively multiplayer space game grew from that. The idea of a
game of this type, with the environments and immersion of those old space
games, but with every other ship being an actual person.. It was a pretty
compelling dream for me."
