Seems that the windstorm that passed through here yesterday morning was indeed as impressive as it struck me at the time... after zero noticeable damage from the hurricane that preceded it, which didn't even blow flowers or leaves off the local shrubbery, yesterday's spontaneous bit of blowage managed to knock a tree down right across the top of someone's parked car. This has got me looking with suspicion at the trees around our house, a couple of which are remarkably tall. I can't even imagine the damage one of them could cause were it to topple... brick walls are nice, but that would be an even greater test of their strength than that big bad wolf.
