In a double blast from the past, old-schooler Don "onethumb" MacAskill
sent a reminder that yesterday (when it would have been better to remember
this), was the sixth (wow!) anniversary of the John
Cash Diet, known for its incredible success in keeping those excess pounds
(or even the last few before you reach excess) off of at least three test
subjects (onethumb, myself, and, of course, John). Of course, your results may
vary... be sure to consult a physician or game programmer before starting this
or any weight loss program. On to further commemorations, today is the ides of
March, so if you haven't consulted with your soothsayer lately, you may not want
to turn your back on your best friend. On this same commemorative theme, regular contributor
Mike Martinez sends along a link to an article called What if Netscape had won?
Finally, sympathies and condolences to family, friends, and coworkers of Richard Harvey, producer and programmer at TRI, who just succumbed to cancer. In the words of TRI's Brendan Gross: "Rich will be remembered by us all for his incredible work ethic, dedication to his family and his stoicism and strength in the face of his own death." R.I.P.
