In a bit of holiday cheer, the 3D Realms Site now offers downloads of the full source code for Rise of the Triad, Apogee's seminal "2.5 D" first-person shooter. The release is dedicated to the late William Scarboro, the ROTT programmer who passed away this past summer, and the distribution includes some thoughts on the game from 3D Realms' Scott Miller and MonkeyStone's Tom Hall, the game's lead designer. The release is made under the GNU GPL, and 3D Realms still maintains their Rise of the Triad copyrights.
