G.I. Combat Gold
is a press release from publisher Strategy First with word that G.I. Combat,
Freedom Games' World War II RTS game has gone gold. Here is a bit of their
description of the game, which is expected in stores on November 5: "From
the designers behind the highly successful Close Combat series, which sold over
a million units, G.I. Combat brings the wartime energy of Omaha
beach to the PC with stunning 3D details, a plethora of legendary weapons, tanks
and artillery, and a historical accuracy you’ve never seen before." To
celebrate, they sent over a batch of a
dozen new screenshots.
Meanwhile, Strike Fighters Project 1 Gold
is another press release from Strategy First announcing that Third Wire's
combat flight simulator set in the 1960s during the early days of jet combat is
now complete. Word on the game, which already had an abortive release which was
subsequently recalled, is that it is expected to land on North American
store shelves around October 29. In a related note, NASCAR
Thunder 2003 for the PC is shipping to stores. On the console front, Red
Faction 2 for the PS2 is shipping, and HomeLan Fed
is reporting that The Fellowship of the Ring for the PS2 is also shipping, while
in still more console releases, Atari sends word they've shipped Godzilla:
Destroy All Monsters Melee for the Nintendo GameCube while TDK sends news
that they've shipped both Robotech: Battlecry for the GameCube and Robotech: The
Macross Saga for the Game Boy Advance.
