We've reached the end of summer here in the Northern Hemisphere, as tomorrow
marks the Autumnal Equinox, so likewise here's to a happy Spring for those
living south of the equator. I engaged in a little yard work yesterday to
celebrate the occasion (actually it was because it was necessary, but calling it
a celebration seems so... cheery). I also managed to screw up my courage to deal
with the deceased squirrel MrsBlue and I noticed just outside of the backyard
the day before, which was already being worked on by the members of the insect
kingdom that view such things as delicacies. I busted out my shovel with the
idea that creating a hole for it and shoveling the ex-squirrel in would involve
the least possible interaction with the grisly corpse. Imagine my delight when I
found that the body was no longer there, having disappeared without the
slightest trace... not even a chalk outline. Sometimes procrastination really
pays off.
