An update to the World War II Online website has the promised (story) release of the version 1.2.5 update. As mentioned, this update features "the addition of a rank system, expanded and enhanced terrain and added vehicles- including a naval vessel. The new version is available as an auto-update and can be accessed by launching the game and selecting a gameworld," and the patch to manually update from v1.2.0 or later can be found here (direct FTP link).
