1047 Games announces the promised open beta test for Splitgate 2 is now underway on PC and consoles to pave the way for the official launch of the portal-centric multiplayer shooter this summer. Word is the beta will continue right up to the official free-to-play launch with no intervening wipes, so this can be considered a soft launch.
