LAN Party Technologies announces
LAN Party, a communications companion
app to complement your gaming that's coming "soon" to Early Access
on Steam.
This will use a first-person interface to recreate some of the magic of
in-person LAN Parties back in the day, presumably with less B.O. and software
piracy. This sounds like an extra impediment, but it promises the opposite:
"Whether you're playing the same game competitively, cooperatively, or playing
different games entirely, LAN Party makes communicating and sharing gameplay so
much easier." The free-to-play release is "tailored" for small groups of up to
six, and there will be a premium version with support for larger rooms and other
enhancements. Here's the
Reveal Trailer and read on for more:
Once inside their custom room,
users can invite friends seamlessly using Steam's integration and experience
gaming together like never before. In these rooms, friends can come together
just like they would at an in-person LAN party. The app is designed to be used
alongside games, allowing users to stream their gameplay or other media, such as
YouTube or desktop applications, directly into the room. For example, one friend
might stream their Call of Duty match while another streams a different game,
with everyone able to watch and interact in real time. The result is an
immersive and communal gaming experience where players can hang out,
communicate, and share
gameplay.
