The
MARVEL SNAP Website now
displays a message to visitors from the U.S. informing them that the game is
"currently not available in your country or region." The comic-based collectible
card game is developed by U.S.-based
Second
Dinner, but publishing partner Nuverse is owned by ByteDance, operator of
TikTok, which
went dark in the U.S. today. A
Second Dinner says this was a surprise to them too, suggesting the shutdown
is an accidental byproduct of the TikTok ban and that the game will return when
it is cleared up:
Unfortunately, MARVEL SNAP is temporarily unavailable
in U.S. app stores and is unavailable to play in the U.S.
This outage is a surprise to us and wasn't planned. MARVEL SNAP isn’t going
anywhere.
We’re actively working on getting the game up as soon as possible and will
update you once we have more to share.
