Despite any potential Smashing Pumpkins rage,
Rats in a Cage has launched
into Early Access
on Steam,
kicking off a "corporate satire puzzle game" for Windows where you play as both
a literal and figurative rat. The previous
Release Date Trailer
takes a look at its hand-drawn graphics and a listen to its 8-bit soundtrack for
a real throwback experience. Here's the description:
Rats in a Cage is
unorthodox puzzle game. What makes it unique is the corporate mechanics you use
in the game, because your biggest weapons are - among other things - coffee and
gossip, which you can use to manipulate your co-workers. Also, it forces you to
do...let's say, non-standard actions that (at least to our knowledge) no other
game requires you to do. It's a bit of a vague description, as we don't want to
give anything away.
