Out of the Blue

The Guardian has an article about color perception, which I find interesting, being colorblind. It points to Is My Blue Your Blue?, a website that lets you determine how similar your perception of blue is compared to other people. I have a green deficiency, and I've always assumed blue is my favorite color since I see it best (besides it being the best color anyway), so it's not a shock that I am way off from the typical result. But it's actually the reverse of what I expected. According to the site, my boundary is at hue 181, which is bluer than 85% of the population! To my faulty eyes turquoise qualifies as green. I'm sure this is surprising to me simply due to a misunderstanding of the way this works, but I did find it quite strange and funny.
