MicroProse Signs Combat Air Patrol 2: Military Flight Simulator

Recalling the original company's aviation roots, revived brand MicroProse announces it is now the publisher of Combat Air Patrol 2: Military Flight Simulator, which has been patrolling the skies of Early Access on Steam for the past eight years. This features other aircraft, but focuses on the AV-8B HARRIER II, even though combat air patrol is typically conducted in fighters. A post on Steam announces a new June update is now live, providing an outline of all it changes. There's also a roadmap for the path ahead for Early Access saying the next patch is just four days away. The new MicroProse Announcement Trailer is a little dry, featuring two minutes of developer Ed Scio rattling off features, but it does feature b-roll of the game in action. Here's word on how the game splits the difference between an arcade game and a hardcore simulation:
Feel the power of flying the AV8B Harrier II. A flight and naval combat simulator with mission planner and fully dynamic open ended campaign. CAP2 is a middle ground simulator, you won't need to read a 300 page manual to get off the ground, nor will you be carrying dozens of missiles when you fire it up.
