Out of the Blue

Last night we escaped the Blue Tower for an outing to celebrate a friend's birthday. This was more than an hour away, and we almost cancelled after being hit by a driving rainstorm right as we set out. But it calmed down to the point where we no longer felt unsafe, so we soldiered on, and we're very happy we did since it was a lot of fun. The gathering was at a restaurant, and while the volume of the music was probably more appropriate for a younger generation, it made for a lively event. And while we didn't dance, we got to spend time with some of our favorite people, which doesn't happen nearly often enough. This infrequency came up, and we vowed to try and fight that trend by getting together more often. Last night was a good start, so hopefully we can build on that.
