Out of the Blue

Today is the anniversary of the move of this website to its own domain back on October 9, 1996. It's safe to say the world of PC gaming has never been the same. But that's not the impact of the site, but the passage of 27 years. Blue's News began in a world of 320x200 VGA graphics, 14.4 modems, and Pentium CPUs, so yeah, not the same. On the other hand, the site itself is largely the same, as part of our mission has turned out to be not fixing things that aren't broken. This offbeat approach has some appeal, at least, as many of you have been along for large chunk of this ride. And for that I could not be more appreciative. A huge thank you to everyone reading these words. For more specific gratitude, thank you to... ...All our supporters for keeping the lights on here. ...Frans for making sure the lights actually work. ... Our moderators for taming the wild west. ...All who send in news tips and comments to keep us headed in the right direction. ...And last but far from least, to Walter "2" Costinak for creating our logo and custom variants, like the special logo adorning our desktop view commemorating the anniversary.

Other things happening today: It's Thanksgiving in Canada. And as discussed, it's Columbus Day in the US. Finally, the next Steam Next Fest gets underway shortly.

Obituary: Celebrity Chef Michael Chiarello Dead at 61 After Allergic Reaction.
