Shortly after receiving a couple of emails telling us that users attempting to play Half-Life and its kin online were getting authentication errors from WON's servers, Agent_X_7 sends word that a fix for the problem is up on the Sierra Forums. The fix involves installing a new woncomm.lst (they supply a download link) that uses the proper IP addresses of the servers you need to contact.
