Microsoft's Xbox press conference (Windows Media Player required) in Los Angeles is in full swing, and this ZDNet News report has the first details on the planned launch for the console. The Xbox will become available in North America on November 8, 2001 for an estimated retail price of $299.99, going head to head with Sony's Playstation 2. The report also lists a number of companies that will publish games for the Xbox, including a new Unreal title called "Unreal Championship," and Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon.
