GameSpy Daily has conducted an interview with Stuart Moulder, the general manager of Microsoft Games, talking with him about yesterday's announcement that they would be acquiring Age of Empires developer Ensemble Studios (story). Stuart says that Microsoft will have no real control over the day-to-day operations at Ensemble, and he also says that this does not affect LucasArts' licensing deal with Ensemble, and that there are no plans at this time to make an Age of Empires game for the Xbox console.
