Reaffirming their commitment to PC gaming, Microsoft has announced today that they have acquired Ensemble Studios, the creators of Age of Empires, and along with them the rights to publish the company's next product, the 3D RTS Age of Mythology. All of the Age of Empires products to date have been published by Microsoft, but because no publisher had been announced to date for Age of Mythology and Microsoft's commitment to their Xbox console system, it was thought the game might wind up at a different publisher. However this morning's announcement assures that a another profile PC game will be released by Microsoft, joining the ranks of Sigma, Dungeon Siege and Halo.
