Out of the Blue

Well, it's only been autumn for a few weeks around here, but the change in seasons is already hitting pretty hard. It's not that chilly yet, but leaves are falling like crazy, and there's a generous coating of them all over the pond. But that doesn't seem to be bothering anyone, because the swans seem to have departed. Our first two winters here they stuck around the whole time, but the last I saw of them was weeks ago, so they are playing snowbirds. Looks like most of the ducks have gone, too, so we'll miss there antics too. And after a brief reappearance, the spider disappeared too. So it's a little leafy and deserted out there, but that will make it seem that much more joyful when everyone returns in the spring, just (checks calendar) gulp, six months from now. Any of you in Australia have room for houseguests?
