Steam Next Fest October Edition Demos. Part 1

Today begins the Steam Next Fest October Edition, a multi-day festival highlighting upcoming games. This will include hundreds of time-limited demos, as well as livestreams and presentations to offer a glimpse at the future. Here's the previously released Steam Next Fest October Trailer. Valve is on the west coast, so things officially kick off at 1:00 pm EDT today. But since this will be a mad scramble to stand out from the crowd, some demos are already online. As before, there will be no way to highlight them all, so we'll just do what we can. Here's a first roundup of demos:

  • Kaiju Wars. "Play out a kaiju movie as the (hopelessly) outclassed military in the stylish 2D turn-based strategy of Kaiju Wars. Construct buildings and defend your city with cannon-fodder tanks, jets, and more as the devastating kaiju grows in power with every attack."
  • Kukoos - Lost Pets. "Discover the Kukoos universe in this amazing 3D platformer. Explore misterious worlds and uncover mysteries to free the brainwashed pets. Meet great characters, play plenty new mechanics, crazy places and have lots of fun!"
  • SpiderHeck. "Spiders with laser swords! Duel to the death against your friends or choose to team up and hold back swarms of savage enemies. Swing, stab and shoot with style, effortlessly performing movie-worthy parkour."
  • Squadron 51 - Prologue. "Squadron 51 Prologue is free version of Squadron 51. It features 3 levels of entertainment, adding English voiceovers, a never-before-seen boss, and new gadgets for your spaceship to defend Earth from a merciless alien invasion." Here's a Prologue Trailer.
  • The Mechanical World of Dr. Gearbox. "Unravel the forgotten mysteries of an aging adventurer by retracing his steps across four distinct environments. Overcome the odds by recruiting a deep roster of eccentric and fascinating creatures to aid you on your quest to discover the truth." Here's a Steam Next Fest Trailer.
  • TUNIC. "Explore a land filled with lost legends, ancient powers, and ferocious monsters in TUNIC, an isometric action game about a small fox on a big adventure."
