This
trailer offers the promised look at multiplayer for
Call of Duty:
Vanguard, the next installment in the military shooter series. This was part
of a worldwide multiplayer reveal, and you can watch that in its entirety
here.
There's also news for Warzone players, as
this article outlines plans to add a new Pacific map to the battle royale.
There's also this on testing: "The livestream also gave details for the
Multiplayer Open Beta, set to kick off early for those who pre-ordered Vanguard
on September 10-13 for PlayStation owners and September 16-17 for Xbox Series
X/S, PC and PlayStation owners." Requiring a purchase does not sound like an
open beta, but this
everything you need to know article has a wrinkle: "Depending on the
platform, the start of Vanguard’s second Beta weekend — from Thursday, September
16 at 10 AM PT to Saturday, September 18 at 10 AM PT — is either an Open or
Early Access Beta. More information to come next week." But there's more already
on
the Xbox Website, here it says: "Then, from Saturday, September 18 to
Monday, September 20, Vanguard will enter its open beta period, allowing all
players to participate. Invite your friends and squad up." Here's more on
multiplayer support:
The most ways to play. Tactical combat. The sights,
sounds, and feel of war on next-generation technology. A focus on a global cast
of Operators. All deeply integrated for a new era for Call of Duty®: Warzone™
that includes a brand-new map and a PC anti-cheat system, both launching later
this year.
As detailed through an in-depth Multiplayer Reveal led by members of the
Sledgehammer Games development team, Call of Duty: Vanguard will put you in the
shoes of a global force of Operators in a down-the-barrel experience of brute
force weaponry, all built on an engine developed to power 2019’s Call of Duty®:
Modern Warfare®.
Combined with updates from Call of Duty’s lead PC developer Beenox and Warzone’s
lead developer Raven Software, this reveal event set the tone for Vanguard’s
Multiplayer: a deeply connected ecosystem that details the origins of Special
Forces.
