One of Sega's announced Xbox titles (story) is a new Panzer Dragoon game, which I'm really excited about, but at the same time I'm a little disappointed. When the announcement first came out I was absolutely psyched, thinking that at long last there would be a sequel to Panzer Dragoon Saga. Well, it looks like that's not the case, as the news has come out that the new Panzer Dragoon is going to be a shooter. I'm still very much looking forward to this (heck, it's the first reason I've seen to actually buy an Xbox) but at the same time I can't help but think that no matter how good this game is, it will feel like a step backward. The series had a real progression from the first game, which was a pure shooter, to Zwei, which had much more storytelling involved, and then Saga, which was a full-blown RPG (and is arguably the best ever made). Going back to a shooter is going to feel terribly awkward. Oh well...I guess I should be thankful it's not an online RPG. Meanwhile, I received my copy of Black & White yesterday, and I'm already loving it (although some of these quests are hard!), and the same can be said for TRIBES 2, which of course is all kinds of fun.
