According to a report
on fan page Duck and Cover, half the staff at developer Micro Forté has
been let go today. According to their news update, the layoffs were made because
the company had been working on a 3D engine to power Fallout Tactics 2, when
Interplay decided that because preliminary work is already underway on both
Fallout 3 and Fallout Online, a sequel to Fallout Tactics would dilute the franchise.
This news comes only a day after the news Fallout Tactics has officially gone
gold and will be on store shelves in the very near future (story).
It should be pointed out that there is no source credited for this report, and
neither Micro Forté nor Interplay has confirmed the layoffs.
