Respawn Entertainment and Oculus celebrate the Oscar won at the 93rd Academy
Awards by
Colette, which was honored as Best Documentary Short. The
video, directed by Anthony Giacchino, is featured in the virtual reality game
Medal of Honor: Above and Beyond, and it's available to stream by way of
The Guardian. Here's more:
The documentary short follows Colette
Marin-Catherine, one of the last living members of the French Resistance, as she
returns to Germany for the first time in 74 years. Colette had refused to step
foot in the country since the conclusion of World War II, but that changed when
a young history student named Lucie entered her life and encouraged her to visit
the concentration camp where the Nazis killed her brother. Colette received a
festival and theatrical release ahead of the launch of Medal of Honor: Above and
Beyond, winning numerous awards, including OscarĀ®-qualifying wins at Big Sky
Documentary Film Festival and St. Louis International Film Festival.
Medal of Honor: Above and Beyond is now available for the Oculus Rift and Steam
platforms and provides one of the deepest VR experiences available to date.
Players will be immersed in an emotionally-driven single-player campaign,
fully-realized multiplayer modes, a powerful retelling of history from veterans
and heroes in the franchise's iconic Gallery and more. Medal of Honor: Above and
Beyond is an authentic and period-accurate experience which sheds light on the
history of World War II blending film and games in a revolutionary take on
interactive entertainment.
