Diablo II: Resurrected Announced

Blizzard Entertainment announces Diablo II: Resurrected, confirming very long-running rumors that a remake of the classic action/RPG Diablo II is in the works. Word is: "Diablo II: Resurrected faithfully remasters Diablo II and its award-winning expansion with hauntingly detailed high-res 3D visuals and Dolby 7.1 surround sound, while preserving its timeless gameplay." This will include remade versions of all 27 minutes of the game's memorable cinematic cutscenes. There will also be an option to play this in throwback 2D sprite-based mode for an experience that's even closer to the original. This is coming to PC and consoles this year, and they are accepting signups for an upcoming technical test on diablo2.com (though the site isn't live as of this moment). Here's word:
