Law.com has the results of the patent infringement lawsuit over the Steam
Controller mentioned
last week (thanks
VGC). Word is the jury ruled in favor of the plaintiff, and Valve is on the
hook to pay them $4 million:
The number is on the low end of the damages
range sought by Ironburg Inventions, but jurors also found Valve Corp.'s
infringement was willful, raising the possibility of enhancements. Valve had
argued there was no infringement.
The intellectual property holding company for video came controller maker SCUF
Gaming has won a $4 million verdict in the nation’s first all-virtual patent
infringement jury trial.
