Publisher NACON and developer Daedalic Entertainment are delaying the release of
Lord of the Rings Gollum, their upcoming action/adventure featuring the
cunning Tolkien antagonist. In the announcement that NACON is publishing the
game, they now say the game will be released in 2022. It was
originally announced as coming
this year, and as of now the release date on the game's
Steam Listing is" "Lurking until the time is right." No reason for the
setback is provided. Here's word on the partnership:
The two companies
decided to join forces to ensure that the game will meet the expectations of
fans of The Lord of the Rings and fully leverage the power of the new generation
of consoles. The universe will be faithfully represented thanks to the
partnership with Middle-earth Enterprises, the company that holds the adaptation
rights to the novel series by J.R.R. Tolkien.
