The
Star Wars:
Squadrons Trailer Premiere Trailer is now online, offering the promised
look at EA Motive's upcoming starfighter combat game. This includes no gameplay,
it is a cinematic trailer showing off the game's use of the Frostbite engine,
but
Geoff Keighley
supplied more details, including the fact that there will be a gameplay
reveal on Thursday during EA Play. Word is the game will be centered on
five-versus-five multiplayer combat with the objective of destroying the
opposing team's flagship, so this sounds like a space MOBA. It is set after
Return of the Jedi and will also include a single-player component as well as VR
support. The release is planned for October 2nd for Windows and consoles, with
the PC versions available through Origin,
Steam, and the
Epic Games Store with support
for cross-platform play. It will cost USD $39.99 and will include the ability to
earn cosmetic items
in-game.
