A new No VR Mod for
Half-Life: Alyx is now available on
GitHub (thanks
Wccftech).
There have already been other such mods for Valve's new first-person shooter,
but this is apparently the first one that allows you to play the entire game
from beginning to end. This is not without its complications, and the
instructions include tips on how to get past four specific segments of the game,
as well as a workaround for times you find you do not have enough health. It has
already been pointed out that playing the game without a headset misses out on
much of its enjoyment, so it's not clear how many people will buy it to play it
this way, but that's your call. Here's
a video showing the
mod in action, and here's the very brief overview:
Driver allows to play
in Half-Life: Alyx without VR on keyboard and mouse. This method allows to
complete the game and try out VR mechanics. Some moments will make sweat, but
they are passable in this
way.
