Rumor: Titanfall Battle Royale Game Next Week

VG247 reports rumors are floating around that EA will launch a new battle royale game called Apex Legends on Monday. This is apparently a spin-off of Titanfall, the mech shooter series, and will be free-to-play on PC and consoles. Details can be found in the twitter feed of Rod Breslau, described as an eSports insider. He received reports from a bunch of streamers who were invited to check this out, and apparently they were not asked to keep it a secret. Here's an example attributed to a top BR streamer/player: "The game definitely has A LOT of potential. I don't think it'll get old fast either. Was sad to leave when the time was up and I can't really say that about any new games in this game drought. I'm excited to see where it goes." VG247 notes that EA trademarked Apex Legends last year, and there's a placeholder website at playapex.com, though this currently redirects to the main EA site. They also remind us that during an investor conference call in October, EA CFO Blake Jorgensen stated developer Respawn has multiple titles in the works.
