A subscriber-only article on The Information in reporting that Amazon is planning on expanding its streaming gaming reach beyond Twitch broadcasts with their own streaming service for playing games. This is attributed to "two people briefed on the plans," but remains unconfirmed. The Verge found ample evidence to support the rumor in several Amazon job listings directly related to cloud gaming and cross-platform support. The Verge notes that if this is true, that Amazon would have a leg up on rivals in this area like Sony and Google, since they have infrastructure in place to provide servers relatively local to lots of potential customers. According to Business Insider's reading of the source article, the streaming service isn't expected to arrive until 2020 "at the earliest."
