A couple of things I really enjoy are learning to cook things I like to eat, and cast iron pans. So this video on Digg is right up my alley. This compares a luxury $200 cast iron pan versus a standard $26 Lodge. I've had enough experience with my Lodges to know this probably wouldn't sway me to spend a fortune to replace them, but I gave it a chance. Sure enough, it did not turn me into Mr. Fancypans, but it did intrigue me by showing how to make fried rice in a regular frying pan, something I always assumed would require a wok. Fried rice is something I love (because fried), and I am pretty excited about the idea of cooking up some for myself, especially with how simple the process turns out to be.
