John Carmack and ZeniMax Settle

John Carmack tweets the conclusion of his end of the legal disputes surrounding the sale of his share of id Software after he joined the Oculus Rift project. (thanks Thinus). ZeniMax was minimally Zen about this, and sued Oculus before accusing Carmack of theft, saying he stole VR code he developed on their dime. In return, Carmack sued ZeniMax, saying they still owed him $22.5 million from the id Software sale. Now word is that John has been paid off, and he and ZeniMax have dropped all legal claims against each other, though the ZeniMax/Oculus lawsuit lives on. Here's the tweet, including the miscaptialization of the name of the company he co-founded:

My personal legal disputes are over -- Zenimax has fully satisfied their obligations to me from the purchase of Id Software, and we have released all claims against each other. (The appeal for Oculus still goes forward)
