So the event teased for yesterday in Fortnite indeed turned out to be a rocket launch in the survival shooter. This article has a recap of the festivities, including links to videos of the action. Word is that after taking off from Snobby Shores the rocket faked out everyone by dropping pod that appeared to attack Tilted Towers before the rocket zoomed around in and out of portals, opening a huge rift across the sky. Most players chose to gawk at this, but there are always opportunists who are ready to take advantage of such situations, an one player earned the new solo kills record as a demonstration of ruthlessness, if not skill. The significance of the crack in the sky is not clear at this time, though it really does pull the room together, so presumably there's more to come from this in the future.
