Ubisoft Acquires Blue Mammoth and Brawlhalla [Mar 02, 2018, 11:07 am ET] – 5 Comments
Ubisoft announces the acquisition of Blue Mammoth Games along with their
free-to-play online fighting game Brawlhalla. The announcement notes this
bolsters the publisher's online expertise, and leaves open the possibility that
they will bring Brawlhalla to other platforms beyond the PlayStation 4:
“We’re looking forward to leveraging Ubisoft’s expertise and resources to continue developing and supporting Brawlhalla for the long term, and to benefiting from their help in bringing the game to new players,” said Matthew Woomer and Lincoln Hamilton, Blue Mammoth Games founders.
This acquisition of Blue Mammoth Games is expected to be immediately accretive to Ubisoft’s earnings. The acquisition was closed on March 1st, 2018. Additional terms of the deal are not being disclosed.
