Headup Games announces July 28th is the release date for SEUM: Speedrunners from Hell, a game right up Ricky Bobby's alley. They also announce that in the month since the release of the playable demo players have managed to rack up over 1.5 million deaths, all as quickly as possible. Word is that some will be receiving closed beta keys between now and then:

[A] month ago the demo of SEUM: Speedrunners from Hell was released and by now more than 1.5 Million (virtual) deaths were recorded - it proved that it is indeed a bastard child of Quake 3 and Super Meat Boy!

The diabolic speedrunner will be available on July 28. In addition, the Closed BETA is nearly finished and keys will be sent out in the course of the next week. It will contain all 100 maps of the full game, most of them in their final state.
