Thank you all for the kind words regarding the site's anniversary. This wouldn't
be a thing without all of you, so thank you for all the support over the years
as well.
My ten dollar bolt arrived from eBay yesterday, and minutes later the broken arm on my Aeron chair was working as good as new, just like in the expression. That means it's even better than it was for the last couple of years before it broke, as the height adjustment was slipping all that time (clearly also related to the worn bolt), and now that is fixed too. The hardest part of the whole process was removing the back of the chair, as the bolts holding that had 16 years to settle into place, so it took a lot of effort to loosen them. I couldn't be happier with the outcome on this, so thanks again to Verno and others for the suggestions that put me on track to repair the chair rather than replace it.
