This video calls
out online gambling site CS:GO Lotto for deceptive practices, saying "CSGO has
reached peak shadiness" in examining the hidden ownership of the site, following
up on a previous video
on the topic. They demonstrate that Trevor "TmarTn" Martin and Tom "Syndicate"
Cassell, each followed by millions of users (presuming these users are real as
well), are apparently the site's owners and operators. This is a fact neither disclosed while heavily shilling for the site, which allows players to gamble
for Counter-Strike: Global Operations skins, and indirectly, cash, and
there are videos of each showing surprise and elation when they "won" items
through their own site.
Eurogamer notes that attempts to visit the site through Steam now produce a
scam warning, though arguably visiting a site that allows anonymous gambling
over the internet should probably have triggered everyone's internal scam warnings in
the first place.
