The Orion Project Asset Theft Follow-up

A Steam forum post has word on changes to The Orion Project, an early access game that allows players to do battle against space dinosaurs. The game made news the other day in a headline that read, "Developer says Activision had Valve pull its game from Steam over allegedly stolen Call of Duty guns." Therefore the follow-up headline should be something like, developer says stolen Call of Duty guns will be removed from its game, as the follow-up admits some assets were purloined. The post from David James expresses a little frustration that the game received a DMCA takedown request over the reported weapon similarities, but then also admits to seeing evidence directly from Activision regarding other stolen assets that haven't yet been reported, saying "it became immediately apparent that blatant rips were made." David explains the volunteer artist was fired, and goes into the reasons this project has had to deal with so many accusations of art theft over the course of its development. Thanks DSOGaming.
